Dr. Vilicia Cade-Lyles is a nationally recognized leader in education, mental health, and nonprofit management. Overcoming early adversity as a ward of the state and thriving as a first-generation college graduate, she earned four advanced degrees and became a champion for equity, innovation, and community empowerment.
With more than 30 years of experience, she has led award-winning initiatives—including three National Blue Ribbon School honors—while building high-performing teams and impactful public–private partnerships.
Her distinguished service includes an appointment from the 46th President of the United States, President Joseph R. Biden Jr., to the White House Commission on Advancing Educational Excellence, Equity, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans (2023–2025). Dr. Cade-Lyles has served as CEO and Superintendent of the Capital School District and later became the President and CEO of Child Guidance Resource Centers, expanding mental-health access for children and families.
A published author and respected thought leader, she founded Sankofa Solutions of Love, Inc., grounded in her belief that faith, hope, and love can transform schools, organizations, and communities.
